CHERRIES

We have 2000 cherry trees growing as dwarf trees in an espalier training system, allowing the fruit to be selectively picked a lot more easily. The main varieties we grow are Lapins and Stella, with new varieties Stacatto and Sweetheart being trialed for the later season fruit. All the trees produce large dark red/black cherries, and are picked at the optimum time to ensure that you get the very best fruit. The trees are grown under a cover which gives them protection from birds and the elements, and creates a micro-climate allowing the fruit to form under the very best conditions. HAZELNUTS

We have 1500 Whiteheart hazelnut trees planted. Alexander, Merville and Auckland trees provide the pollination. We planted the trees in 2004 and they take around 8 years to reach full production. The Whiteheart hazelnut is widely grown throughout Canterbury and Otago, and has proven to provide one of the tastiest nuts available. They are ideal as a table nut, roasted or processed for oil. HONEY BEE APAIRIES

When we purchased the property we also inherited 7 honey bee hives, and our fascination with the highly productive honey bee has seen us increase our hives. The honey we produce is creamed in the traditional whipping method and the result is a delicious silky honey. We also produce traditional candles made from the beeswax. Read more about our bees...

BERRYFRUIT

Strawberries and Raspberries are grown under cover and are always a tasty treat. We have only limited quantities available of fresh fruit as most of our fruit is used in the delicious Strawberry Jam and Raspberry Jam. Read more about our berryfruit...
